Three sentenced 8 years of rigorous imprisonment in case of rape attempt, snatching – Times of India


KURUKSHETRA: A fast track special court of additional district and sessions judge in Kurukshetra sentenced three accused persons with eight years of imprisonment each, in a case of rape attempt and snatching.
The court has convicted Baljit Singh, Vijay and Ravi of Dabkheri village in Kurukshetra, and also fined them Rs 30,000 each as fine.
Kurukshetra deputy district attorney (DDA) Bhupender Kumar said that on June 1, 2019, a woman in his complaint told police that she did a private job.
“On June 1, the woman went on an outing with her friend and they were sitting on the canal bridge at Jyotisar. Three persons came there on a motorcycle and started assaulting them. They snatched money and mobile phones from the victims. The accused tried to rape the woman while asked her friend to bring more money. Somehow, she managed to escape from them”, said DDA Bhupender.
The DDA said that on this complaint, a case was registered at Kurukshetra Women police station and the investigation was started.
