As part of its President’s Day Sale, Lenovo is offering a Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 16″ RTX 4070 Gaming Laptop from only $1201.99 after two stackable codes: “GAMEXTRA10” and “BUYMORELENOVO“. This is a very competitive price for an RTX 4070 equipped gaming laptop, especially since this particular config has been upgraded with a higher resolution display, your choice of AMD Ryzen 7 or Intel Core i7 CPU, and 3 free months of Xbox Game Pass. Lenovo Legion Pro gaming laptops are highly rated for their rugged build quality, ample cooling and top notch performance.

This Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 config features a 16″ 2560×1600 QHD+ 165Hz IPS display, your choice of AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX or Intel Core i7-13700HX CPU, GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 512GB or 1TB NVMe SSD, depending on which CPU you choose. I would personally go with the AMD model because you also get double the SSD capacity. The AMD Ryzen 7 7745X is AMD’s newest mobile chip with max boost clock of 5.6GHz and a total of 8 cores, 16 threads, and 32MB cache. Not only does it actually perform on equal terms with the Intel Core i7-13700HX, it does so while drawing significantly less power.

The RTX 4070 mobile GPU performs on par with the RTX 3080. It’s a little bit faster than the RTX 3070 Ti but not quite as powerful as the RTX 3080 Ti. You’ll want this kind of power to run games comfortable on the laptop’s beefed up 2560×1600 or QHD+ display. Compared to RTX 30 series cards, RTX 40 series cards also support new features like DLSS 3.0 and 3.5. For games that support it (like the new Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty DLC) this can be a pretty significant FPS increase over even DLSS 2.0.
